Peri-menopause and menopause are mostly perceived as a difficult time in a woman’s life. The changes in our bodies and the undesirable symptoms can make life very difficult. They can hijack our health and completely ruin our confidence. However, it does not have to be like that. Menopause does not need to be perceived as the end game; instead it should be seen as the beginning of a new life. It is like we are returning to the cocoon, changing and evolving into a new being, growing new wings. I like to think of it as a second puberty. We are adjusting and adapting to a new phase in our existence — a new phase, which, when granted proper support and assistance, can become a moment of great empowerment and transformation.
